What is Kinetic Energy?

In the topic "Work. Energy. Types of Energy" we have learned that Kinetic Energy is the energy of a moving object. This means when an object is at rest it does not possess Kinetic Energy.

Kinetic Energy is denoted in equations as KE. As all the other types of energy, it is also measured in Joules [J].
